If a Hurricane evacuation is ordered, would you “Need-a-Ride” to a Red Cross Shelter?
If yes, please provide the information below.

Need-A-Ride is an evacuation assistance program for individuals who do not have the means to evacuate Glynn County in the event of a natural disaster. Need-A-Ride is not for individuals who need assistance due to limited mobility or specific medical needs but rather individuals who have no access to reliable transportation and/or limited financial means.

Individuals participating in Need-A-Ride are responsible for reporting to one of four locations in Glynn County to utilize this assistance program. Glynn County will not pick up individuals from their home or any locations other than the four listed below.

Participants in the program will be transported to a designated Red Cross shelter. Only one piece of luggage is allowed. No alcohol, drugs (other than prescription) or weapons will be allowed on the buses. Pets will be allowed on the buses at the Lanier Plaza Pick-up location but must meet all requirements.
Dates and times to report to a designated pick-up location will be announced on the EMA Facebook page, FM Radio 104.9 WBHSLP, and CodeRed.

Note: Pets must be in a carrier or kennel. Owners must provide shot records, food, water, collar, leash, and are responsible for maintenance and well-being of their pet.
