SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

GLYNN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Discussion and consideration of the following:

 

1.         Update on Glynn County Department of Family and Children Services (K. Jones)

 

                        Krystal Jones provided an update on the Glynn County Department of Family and Children Services. She discussed where funds are distributed, and what she hopes to make improvements on in the future.

 

 

2.         Safety Talk (O. Reed) LINK LINK

 

                        Orah Reed, Director of Human Resources, presented a slideshow on potential safety hazards at work and home, as well as, how to prevent potential safety issues. She also informed us that the Human Resources Department has recently hired a safety trained staff member.

 

 

3.         Update on Public Works Compound A&E (B. Rowell) LINK LINK

 

                        Robert Ussery presented an update on the future Public Works Compound, specifically discussing phase 1 of the project. He reported the following:

Phase 1 is also known as the Fleet Shop. Its budget is approximately $2,696,201.77. This projected number includes the building and equipment but not the parking area. 

The projected budget of the entire Public Works master plan is about $7,150,468.30, which would include everything.

 

 

4.         Beach Safety Improvement Plan (Chief Doering) LINK

 

                        Police Chief Matt Doering presented an idea to implement beach safety. His idea included more beach access signs that provide helpful information about the rapidness and location of the tides. This idea also included installation of a new shed that would store equipment for easy access to lifeguards in emergency situations.
