Employee Service AwardsEvery year the Board of Commissioners recognize full-time employees for their meritorious years of service. Employees who reach their work anniversaries of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 or more years are presented with a certificate and a gift card to show appreciation for their services and contributions provided to Glynn County, County residents, and the public every day.
Typically, these items are given to employees at the County's Years of Service Ceremony and Reception. However, we all know that 2020 was anything but typical. Even though an in-person event was not possible due to the pandemic, a total of 142 employees received a certificate and gift card for their years of service.
Thank you all for your service and dedication to Glynn County!

Employee Spotlight Serving Glynn County since 1973, Andrew Moses, is the longest serving County Employee. However, most people affectionately know him by the name "Pee Wee". He says he was given the nickname early on in his career in the Public Works department by some older gentleman who couldn't remember his name. He was a pretty small guy, so they started calling him Pee-Wee, and it just happened to stick with him through all these years.
During his 47 years of service, Pee-Wee says his favorite part has been meeting and working with such diverse groups of people over the years. He's thankful for the time he's had with the County, from his beginnings of picking up paper and weed eating near the causeway, to his current position as a Mechanic II. When asked what has encouraged him to stay with the County for so many years he said that he enjoys what he does. He's always enjoyed tearing things apart and putting them back together, and on top of that, he's met some pretty great people along the way.

This annual best 2 out of 3 charity softball game pitted the Glynn County Fire Department against the Glynn County Police Department. The GCPD was victorious this year. However, the true winners are the kids sponsored by the Golden Isles Emerald Society and the Fraternal Order of Police. A total of $16,760 was raised during the charity softball game. At the Glynn County Board of Commissioners December 17th meeting, Officer Josh Williams presented two checks, each for $8,380 to the Golden Isles Emerald Society and the Fraternal Order of Police. The funds raised will go to each organization's respective charities, "Shop with a Firefighter" and "Cops and Kids".

Big Cat is very sweet and loving to all people. She loves attention so much that she would rather not have any furry brothers or sisters in her forever home.
Bree is a little lazy girl who watches everything that goes on. Her perfect forever family would be one with a quiet home for her to just lounge around in and do her own thing.
Janet is a sweet playful girl who just loves to be loved. She is happiest with a couple toys and someone to spend time with. Janet would do great in a household with kids or young adults. Daisy is as sweet as they come. This sweet girl loves to get all the attention she can, but she seems to have her limit when it comes to her other dog friends. Gruff is the life of the party. This boy would do awesome in an active home. Sawyer is a ball of energy looking for the perfect active family to spend the rest of his days with. He does prefer to be the only animal in the house, so he can have all the love his new family will offer.
