The Technical Support & Implementation Unit, or TSIU, is a newly-formed division within the Glynn County Police Department. The mission of TSIU is to not only optimize the current usage of law enforcement technologies in place, but also to research [and possibly develop], and implement new technologies moving forward. TSIU is responsible for maintaining the back-end of several of our systems, as well as acting as the liaison between the GCPD and vendors that supply the technologies in use.
TSIU is also in the process of developing an sUAS (drone) program for the Glynn County Police Department, which will deploy the usage of unmanned aerial systems based on the incident type. Each sUAS pilot will be required to have prior law enforcement experience, and will also be required to obtain their Part 107 pilot certification through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) prior to sUAS issuance.
TSIU is led by Sergeant Brandon Kondo, who has an extensive background in technology, to include:
Full-Stack Web Development
Graphic Design/Video Production
Digital Forensics (FLETC Certification)
Information Technology (formerly employed as a Network Administrator for the Glynn County Board of Education)
Sergeant Kondo is also a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's Law Enforcement Instructor Training Program (LEITP Class 2115), and is a state & federally certified law enforcement instructor.
