- The use and condition of a property on January 1 are used to determine value for that tax year. These factors as well as ownership on January 1 are used to determine eligibility for exemptions.
- The Property Appraisal Office begins accepting Tax Returns for Business Personal Property.
- The Property Appraisal Office begins accepting applications for Property Tax Exemptions (churches, charities, etc.) and preferential assessments such as Conservation Use and Rehabilitated Historic Properties.
- The Property Appraisal Office begins accepting applications for Freeport Exemptions for Business Personal Property.
- The Tax Commissioner’s Office begins accepting applications for Homestead Exemption through April 1.
April 1
- Deadline for filing all Property Tax Returns.
- Deadline for applying for Property Tax Exemptions (churches, charities, etc.) and preferential assessments such as Conservation Use and Rehabilitated Historic Properties.
- Deadline to receive 100% of eligible Freeport Exemption for Business Personal Property.
April 2-30 Deadline to receive 66.67% of eligible Freeport Exemption for Business Personal Property.
May 1 – 31 Deadline to receive 58.33% of eligible Freeport Exemption for Business Personal Property.
Mid May Assessment Change Notices are mailed to all property owners.
Late June
Deadline for appealing the Assessment Notice. Deadline is 45 days from the date the Notice is mailed. See Notice for the exact deadline date.
September 1 Glynn County Tax Digest is submitted to the State Department of Revenue. Upon Digest approval by the State, the Tax Commissioner’s Office can bill and collect property taxes. Approval is usually received within one week of submission.
Mid-September Property Tax Bills are mailed by and are payable to the Tax Commissioner.
