This Department is responsible for ensuring public safety through the enforcement of federal, state, and local codes governing construction. Staff members

• review plans
• issue building permits
• perform inspections

  Inspections ensure Code compliance related to aspects of 

• life/safety
• structural integrity
• handicap accessibility electrical, plumbing, gas, heating and air conditioning systems 

 

International Building Codes are enforced as prescribed by the International Code Council, mandated by and amended by the State of Georgia.
