The Investigations Division is committed to providing the highest quality investigative services to the citizens of Glynn County. We will protect the public by deterring crime using innovative investigative and specialized enforcement strategies. The Investigations Division is responsible for conducting in-depth inquiries into alleged criminal activity and taking the necessary steps to bring offenders before the court. Cases are assigned based on workload, potential for clearance, in-house expertise and availability of external resources.
The Investigations Division is comprised of three units:
General Investigations Unit - The General Investigations Unit completes follow-up investigations on cases initiated and generated by the Patrol Division. Investigators provide investigative assistance to patrol officers 24 hours a day, year-round.
Special Investigations Unit - The Special Investigations Unit is a pro-active unit that investigates all aspects of narcotics and vice operations. This includes all aspects of work associated with illegal drug activities and vice crimes such as prostitution, gaming, illegal weapons, and illegal alcohol sales.
Crime Scene, Evidence, and Victim Services Unit - The Crime Scene, Evidence, and Victim Services Unit is responsible for all aspects of crime scene processing and evidence collection and maintenance. This unit also includes Glynn County's Crime Victim Liaison who provides victims with guidance and support throughout an investigation and court proceedings.
