Voters may choose to advance vote during the week preceding the election, from Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 11, 2008, from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. at the Board of Elections office, 1815 Gloucester Street in Brunswick, or at Fire Station #2, 1929 Demere Road, St. Simons Island. No reason is required during the week of advance voting. Any voter registered in Glynn County may vote at either location.
All voters who choose to vote in person will be required to show a photo I.D.
Georgia election law requires voters to show one of six forms of photo identification in order to vote in person (O.C.G.A. 21-2-417). You are not required to include any identification when voting absentee by mail. The following items are acceptable forms of identification.
1. A Georgia driver’s license, even if expired.
2. Any valid state or federal government-issued photo ID, including a FREE Voter ID card issued by the Glynn County Board of Elections Office or the Department of Driver Services (DDS).
3. A valid U.S. passport.
4. A valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state.
5. A valid U.S. military photo ID.
6. A valid tribal photo ID.
If you do not have one of these acceptable forms of photo identification, a Georgia Voter Identification Card is now available FREE of charge at the Board of Elections Office or the Department of Driver Services (DDS) Office.
